Commonwealth Tribute to Life Webinar

We recently took part in a webinar around the theme of ‘Honouring Deceased Donors’. This is part of a larger webinar series for the Commonwealth Tribute to Life project. When we were asked by Dr Dale Gardiner, National Clinical Lead for Organ Donation, to take part, we felt very honoured and thrilled to share our expertise with the other commonwealth countries.

For our 10-minute slot, we decided to produce a video. The video explores some of our donation memorial artworks and explains why we think art is the greatest way to promote and raise awareness of organ and tissue donation whilst also recognising the amazing work of donation doctors and nurses and acting as a memorial to thank donors and donor families.

In this special 90-minute edition of the webinar series, Dale Gardiner (UK) and Hassina Mohammed (Trinidad) chair a celebration of the incredible gift of deceased organ donation, with insights from Rachel Stoddard-Murden (UK), Hospital Art Studio (UK), Tina Coco (Australia), Lalitha Raghuram (India), Jenny Ryan (Canada) and Anja Meyer (South Africa).

“The Commonwealth Tribute to Life webinar series stems from one of the main pillars of the project: the sharing of knowledge and expertise.

The webinars are led by experts from all corners of the Commonwealth and provide a platform for learning and the development of organ donation and transplantation programmes.”
