A Yorkshire Landscape

TRANSFORMING THE MEDICAL PHYSICS DEPT AT BRADFORD TEACHING HOSPITALS

We have enlivened bare walls in this hospital department to create a sense of calm with imagery inspired by the stunning Yorkshire landscape.

Some areas feature birch woodland and birds such as the Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Song Thrush, Jay and Tawny Owls. Meanwhile other areas suggest the vast expanses of heather covered moors where Red Grouse and majestic Red Kites inhabit.

The reception area features the distinctive barns that dot the rolling landscape of the dales, while Lapwings soar over windswept hills; scenery that sums up countryside of incredible beauty.

The entire installed artwork reflects a serene and natural atmosphere, providing a comforting and familiar environment for patients and staff alike.

Feedback

Feedback was instant and filled with gratitude. In fact it’s all these wonderfully thankful reactions, from both staff and patients, during installation of these artworks that make us truly appreciate the work we do. We are not just transforming bare walls but also bringing joy and comfort to the individuals who frequent these areas.

At the request of a member of staff we also included a cheeky fox! She said she was impressed how we worked with the team and took their suggestions and ideas on board so it was reflective of what the department would like to see.

“I would just like to say a huge, huge, huge thank you to you and your team for your recent work on Ward 15 and the medical physics department. I have just been to see the teams and they absolutely love what you have done. I am so glad that we have been able to lift their spirits.”
